@violet and @april - Thanks for reading. I read every comment posted on here btw, even if it's on an entry dated in the past. I'm still working on figuring out this blog. It's always going to be a work in progress, but I'm finding that it really is just about that honesty and sincerity (you're so right violet). If you can incorporate that into everythign you do, plus say that you're having fun doing it, then that's what it's all about.

It's one thing to try to establish a personal brand on your blog, but it should never be at the expense of compromising who you are as a person. You'll have to keep me posted on your progress. Looking forward to reading what you guys come up with! Cheers for being other women in this space who are as enthusiastic, curious, and challenged by social media as I am!

Best,
Alexa

Alexa,

I just came across your blog yesterday. I don't know if you'll get this comment on an earlier written post, but we'll try anyways.

I just want to say, that i feel exactly the same way you do about blogging. In fact, for several weeks I have tried to develop a blog of my own where I can talk about marketing and new media yet at the same time other areas of my life that interest me and help define who I am as a person.

But, i ahven't. and I don't know why. Because I often wonder, who is going to read my blog. How mcuh do I want people to know about me, what makes me think my voice is worth listening too. I dont' know the answers to those questions, but I have so much I want to write about right now. In the meantime, I'm trying to come up with my "brand" for my blog.

I will also say that reading you have inspired me.

Alexa-
Bravo! This post is so honest and sincere and I think that is what defines a person. I am trying to overcome the same hurdles as you and I find it can be difficult.
Cheers to girls in the tech/social media space!

Just keep doing what you're doing, Steve. I checked out your blog and there's lots of good stuff there, both personal and professional. Good luck with all your career endeavors and all my best to your wife and her recovery. :)

Alexa,
I feel the same way. I try to write "smart" posts but all to often my life ends up on my postings more than not. I see it as the whole package of who I am and others can take what they want from it.
